      18. Additional licensing is required once the number of cores per CPU reaches which of the following?
      A. 16 or more cores
      B. 12 or more cores
      C. 8 or more cores
      D. 6 or more cores > incorrect answer because 6 cores don't require additional Licence ..but More than 6 core any CPU can have is 8(not 7) hence it seems option "C" is correct answer.

Another. Max number of hosts in linked mode:1000 correct:3000 – but this is the difference between vSphere 4.0 and 4.1 – hmmm, as per VMware forum in real test there should not be questions that have different answers for 4.1 and 4.0.

      Another from Robber:
Maximum amount of logical processors on host: 64 and the correct answer is 128.

There are some questions with wrong answers (or I dont understand it). For example:
      18. Additional licensing is required once the number of cores per CPU reaches which of the following?
      A. 16 or more cores
      B. 12 or more cores
      C. 8 or more cores
      D. 6 or more cores
      Answer: C
But it should be 6 or 12 (depends on edition): http://www.vmware.com/products/vsphere/buy/editions_comparison.html

or there is questions about how many floppys can be in VM. And the answer was 1 and correct is 2.

Can someone comment on this, if I am wrong or what ?

Hi guys, thanks for all the information on here. Good discussions.

A question for those who have passed. When you guys say study the exam blueprint, how did you actually study for it? Just go over the topics, and make sure that you are familiar with it? Or go and find that topic in the book? There is a lot of documentation to read and memorized, I just want an idea of what's a realistic amount of documents that need to be memorized.

      Cheers from NZ.

Why is backing up VMs created on ESX 3.x takes longer than backing up VM's created on ESX 4.x?
Cause technology used-block tracking for ESX4 and shadow service for ESX3.
    • Jarno from Spain 01 12 2011, 8:08 AM Report Spam
VDR: something like if is it possible to backup a VM created by ESX3.0. Also about which technology VDR leverages to make fast backups (Changed block tracking)

      Real Questions:

-differences between CHAP Hard/soft ISCSi (Answers in table 2-2 of iSCSI Config guide)
-differences in CHAP per target / per server in hard/soft iSCSI (answer in page 45, 2nd paragraph)
      - exhibit with high ready time. Answer: don't remember
      - exhibit with link speed 10Mbps (Answer: no matter, just using an old vlance virtual nic, will transfer at full the full speed)
      - How to disable alarms for a cluster?

You have users complaining that vm is slow you checked performance and saw that memory is using 95% from swap? What you can do?
      I choose
      -install VMtools
      -move VM to other host
I had no questions about NFS
      I had 3 graph q's
      One of them
Was spike of CPU ready? What you can do?

      Study study study

      @ yaknow
      Congrates man..
Can you help us by mentioning some of the new quesions. ??
    • Jarno from Spain 01 11 2011, 7:32 AM Report Spam
I did not say that there were new questions, it is something I just don't know. I said that way too many questions that are actually on the exam are in that dump (it is linked in this thread). They can be in other dumps too, but I didn't read all the available dumps. In fact that dump came late for me. Strip all the crap coming from the mock exam, Simon's mock exam and 4.0-related maximums and you we'll get a pretty decent sample of how real exam questions are.

However, if what you are looking for is passing without studying at all, you're almost dead.

It seems true that these guys write the questions following the official PDF docs and that you have to pay a lot of attention to the "note" sections in those docs.

i dont see any new valid questions in "Baracas" dumps.. is it a real valid dump ?
    • Jarno from Spain 01 10 2011, 9:48 PM Report Spam
Passed last week. More than 50% of the questions are in the "Baracas" dump from certifyme. That dump has also a lot of crap. If you are smart enough you will be able to tell which questions are the good ones.

      Interesting info about question rotation.
The truth is they can not have new qustions all the time the q's should be the same or slightly changed-they do not make new VMware Documentation))))))

I also got some scenario and exbit question..where they showed some graphs and asked me to define the type of graph : like whether its a memory graph or processor graph or network graph…
    • TheDopey from India 01 09 2011, 5:50 PM Report Spam
It seems vmware are rotating questions. their main server resides in germany and australia. and this two server switch the question often, so there are least possiblity to get the same questions…but dont know how true the information is ..
anyway ..thank yaknow for lining up the caution notes.
      I got this two cautions:
      Caution
When your host accesses a virtual machine disk file on an NFS-based datastore, a .lck-XXX lock file is generated in the same directory where the disk file resides to prevent other hosts from accessing this virtual disk file. Do not remove the .lck-XXX lock file, because without it, the running virtual machine cannot access its virtual disk file.

      Caution
If you use scripted installation to install ESX when booting from a SAN, you must take special steps to avoid unintended data loss.

learn complete MPP and SAN boot up..

dint clear my vcp , scored 290. :-(
Every one please study the blueprint (there is no valid dump.. only 20% came from dump) and when you do study the blueprint pdf .. in each topics study the "Note" and "Caution" columns.. most of the question came from those "notes" and "caution" columns.DRS and resource is very important.

      @Jak is this a valid dump. ??
@yaknow all the best for your exam mate.

It's equal to the 580q posted by Simon, only this exam has been split into 10 sub sets to make it more managable.

The exam has been reformatted and one questions has been corrected. (it only had 2 of the 4 options)

Memorising dumps is not the way to pass the real exam, only knowledge will help you pass.
