Exam D, Question 15 the answer should be A (QOS Packet Scheduler) Here is the link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831679.aspx#bkmk_policy

"You have a Hyper-V host named Hyperl that has Windows Server 2012 Installed. Hyperl hosts 20 virtual machines.

Hyperl has one physical network adapter.

You need to implement a networking solution that evenly distributes the available bandwidth on Hyperl to all of the virtual machines.

      What should you modify?"

      @Dejan @JJ

I have seen many discussions on this one and the more i think about it i begin to think that we must think what are they asking. Are they asking the minimum amount of physical disk to create or the minimum amount to keep it working?
The minimum amount to create the answer should be 2-3-5.
The minimum amount to keep it working should be 1-2-3.

When i see 2-3-3 as a answer i only see the motivation that the three way mirror can tolerate a 2 disk failure so 3 should be the answer. But if this is the idea then a two way mirror can tolerate a 1 disk failure and a parity can tolerate a 1 disk failure. You get the minimum amount to keep it working 1-2-3 but this is not a supported answer.
      So i say 2-3-5.

Concerning the P2V question and 2003R2 not listed is strange. When you look at the list of guest OS 2003R2 is listed with SP2. But when you look at the integration services list 2003R2 is also not listed. Weird. But in the restrictions for P2V 2003R2 is not mentioned as not possible.
The trainer handbook of 70-414 states:
Most Windows operating systems can be converted starting from Windows XP ServicePack 3 (SP3) for clients, and starting from Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2) for servers.

My guess is incorrect information on the website, 2003R2 is nothing more then a 2003SP1 installation and when you install the second CD/ISO it becomes 2003R2. I think common sense is required in this case this would be really sneaky to mark this not correct. IMHO The key to this question is the 2TB file limit.

@ Dejan. Agree with you. Did see a few links that said three disks. But Microsoft back it up as well to select 5.
      http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/11382.storage-spaces-frequently-asked-questions-faq.aspx

      Resiliency type

To JJ from UK. I found diffrent answer.Question from dump "You need to identify the <minimum number of physical disks required>? Three way mirror – can tolerate 2 disk failure. Three-way mirror space must use five or more physical disks. Minimum number of disk is 3. link- http://www.ms4u.info/2012/10/storage-virtualization-in-windows.html 05be i am wrong, i think is 2-3-3, any suggestions, anyone?
    • jj from United Kingdom 03 26 2013, 9:31 PM Report Spam
Would say the mirrored question is 2/3/5 looking at the mirrored screen shot below.
      http://spiffy.sg/general/why-i-love-windows-server-2012-part-3-storage-space/

As for VMM 2012 and p2v. Strange all the other versions are on the list but not 2003 R2. No mention of not supporting 2003 R2. Vmm 2007 did support it. Would go with needs sp2 or later

    • JP from Netherlands 03 26 2013, 7:49 PM Report Spam
@gjeff80: It is a bit strange but 2003 R2 is not on that list…
2003 SP2 is on the list, 2008 R2 is on the list, 2003 R2 is not.

And I agree with John, limit is 2TB disks for P2V.

Passed today with 813, This dump ( modified Omar's) is valid and useful for this test still.

Some of the questions had slightly different answers or different phrasings of the same answer, but if you have half a clue about the content, and you paid attention studying the dumps, you'll do fine.

@gjeff80: P2V uses straight vanilla VHD files, which have a limit of 2TB. VHDX files have a limit of 64TB. Therefore you can't P2V a server with a 4TB Data drive.

    • gjeff80 from United States 03 26 2013, 7:22 PM Report Spam
Exam C, Question 12 is wrong for sure. From what i am reading on the link below all the OS's are capable of being P2V'd.

actually ignore my question, re-reading the question i notice that they want to backup the files and folders on the VM, not the host… I mis-read the question
    • gjeff80 from United States 03 26 2013, 7:12 PM Report Spam
What do you guys think about this question… based on what they are asking (you need to back up the files and the folders used by VM1), the only practical answer would be B). Backing up from within the VM wouldn't capture the files on the storage device used by the VM. Thoughts?

Your network contains a server named Server1 that runs Windows Server 2012. Server1 is configured as a Hyper-V host.Server1 hosts a virtual machine named VM1.

VM1 is configured as a file server that runs Windows Server 2012. VM1 connects to a shared storage device by using the iSCSI Initiator. You need to back up the files and the folders in the shared storage used by VM1. The solution must ensure that open files are included in the backup.

      What should you do?

      B) From Server1, perform a backup by using Windows Server Backup.
C)From VM1, perform a backup by using Windows Server Backup.

@mcsvce this question in the vce is worded differently on the exam. I chose delete both and create another as that was the only sensible answer to the question. You will see what I mean when you take it, by the way some of these questions are non scorring but do appear on the exam. I studied vce by silence20 and D exam from Mike.
    • mcsvce from Netherlands 03 26 2013, 2:42 PM Report Spam
The correction "B15 Delete both and create new"does not sound valid.
Why? because the create action creates a PTR record not a A-record.

The answer "Delete one of the host (A) records named Intranet. Modify the remaining host (A) record named Intranet." still sounds right

chaps! these are the answers I gave be they right or be they wrong? who knows. This is what I answered and this is the score I got, it stands then that if you give the same answer you will get the same result. so the real question is, What is important to you? Getting these questions right or getting an MCSE?

      @Anvil

A5/B3 I'd say was wrong – question is you want to automate membership of security groups – nothing about VM's or any requirement for VMM
