@Ruth if you did not pass this exam it simply means that this dump is not valid, unless you believe that you did not study hard

@Sam I think you should work on your CV layout and make it fit or suits the job role you are applying for.

Although I noticed Hardcore IT jobs minimum certification requirement is microsoft, am not sure Comptia is really considered here in the UK.

      Thanks for the advice!

      @ID10T and infoseye,
I keep searching employers in London, who can employ me.
With my 3 COMPTIA certificates nobody even invited me to the interview except some scams who, in order to get a job with them, they ask you to pay £250-300 in advance for the other certificates in limited time that you should pass.
Trust me, Comptia is useless, go for Cisco and Microsoft, Citrix and ITIL, these are what the IT companies expect from you, not this waste of money and time.

@Jess: Most employers don't even keep up on the exam version numbers. They are (if at all) concerned with the certification date. Of course this is just my opinion. If you have been studying for 70X and can wrap it up soon I'd say stick with it.

I am planning on taking my A+ certification exam shortly. I have nearly a decade of personal experience and six months of professional experience. I've been studying for about two months now, using study materials for 701/702.

Now that the 701/702 exam will be retired later this year, I'm wondering which exam version I should sit for. Does the certificate show which version (700 vs 800) of the test I took? I'm concerned that if the certificate does show the version, that potential employers will see that as a disqualifying factor (i.e, "Why didn't she take the most recent version of the exam?").

So basically: which version should I take? The one I've been studying for or the most current one? Or does it even matter which version I take so long as I pass?

      Thank you.

@sam: With that many certs and no job prospects it sounds like resume & interviewing skills should be your focus.

just took the test this morning, only few question from this dump appeared on the test. But it's worth for practice. I did pass with 703/675

@Sam why do you say so? Do you have a specific reason? Can you please state your reason why you consider Comptia A+ useless certificate? Thank you.
    • sam from United Kingdom 12 23 2012, 7:38 PM Report Spam
Hi guys, if you are in the UK and studying CompTIA, please don't,
      it is useless and worthless!
I have A+,NET+,SEC+, CCENT, CCNA, MCSA but still no job!!
I wish I have studied more towards Cisco, it is the serious certificate.
It is a shame I wasted my time and money for such a crap like Comptia.

Exam D from this .vce file has incorrect question.
Which of the following ports is BEST to use when adding a network printer in windows XP?
      A. USB
      B. COM5
      C. LPT1
      D. TCP/IP
The answer would be "Ethernet" because TCP/IP is not a port but a protocol.

Dump is no longer valid. Very few questions appear from this otherwise there are alot of new questions or heavily reworded questions from the dump. You need field experince and some serious book studying to pass. Dumps can be used to see how questions will be asked etc but don't just study the dumps and expect a pass.

@12urion On both CMOS & BIOS being listed was a poor decision. Only 1 should have been given.

Sometimes when I have taken exams I've noticed where a potential valid conflict appears in a dump, it's not the same on the actual exam – 1 choice missing. Congrats on passing btw!

    • 12urion from Canada 11 15 2012, 5:38 PM Report Spam
@ID10T Thanks again for the reply. I still don't find the question written very well to offer that kind of answer, especially as the bios setup utility is colloquially referred to as cmos setup. How does one configure (alter data) settings on a rom chip? CMOS should have been ditched as an answer, or the question should have been re-written. I guess that's just life though. Can't expect 100% perfect questions on a 100 question test.

@Refilwe I hear there's a bay of pirates that might have what you need ;)

@12urion – I haven't looked up the BIOS/CMOS question until now but as you stated it asks "where **boot** settings can be configured" That is done in BIOS. As in, if I wanted to change the boot order to boot to CD first. True that those settings are stored in NVRAM and would be lost if the battery was removed.
I think this is the question however:
Which of the following is the only place where initial boot settings can be configured?
Correct answer is absolutely BIOS – the human interface for adjusting settings in the CMOS. It is certainly a more accurate answer than CMOS here. If it asked where are those settings stored, CMOS would be a more accurate answer.

Thanks for the replies to my original inquiry.

I suppose I can take the correction on the question relating to firewalls, however it's still a bad question as there are non-NAT firewalls in existence (firewalls are at a basic level block ports, and therefore don't require NAT functionality, on a basic level).

The BIOS related question is flat out wrong. The bios is only ever edited through a firmware update. Any changes in the "BIOS setup" are actually saved in the CMOS, not the BIOS chip. If the battery is defective, missing, or low/out of charge, the BIOS settings will revert to default. The CMOS is memory, not a battery. It's an errant question.

      http://kb.iu.edu/data/annl.html

I suppose someone could pose the argument that the actual utility is pulled from the ROM chip, but it's not actually interacted with in the setup utility. That seems to be the goal of the question, considering the answer. The question is bad and needs to be re-written to better reflect what answer the author wants.

Passed this exam today. I'd say about 25% of the questions from the first 3-4 practice exams were present on the test I took today. Got a score of 734.

12urion- Agreed these vendors all share errors. A.T. has more than their share. But those are both proper answers. Router would be a "more perfect answer" for NAT but look at any exam question as implying "Of the available choices, which one is most correct" And BIOS is 100% correct.

Always expect to see common questions/answers between updates, they do not typically replace every question.

    • ARJ from Canada 11 12 2012, 8:41 PM Report Spam
12urion, the exam is correct. NAT is done on the Firewall as well, and boot settings is done in the BIOS, not CMOS.. CMOS is the battery
    • 12urion from Canada 11 12 2012, 6:00 AM Report Spam
I notice many of these questions are repeats from older exam dumps. Exam B in particular has some flawed questions. One question asks what option allows NAT. The answer would be a router. This wasn't an option, the exam answer was firewall. Another question asks where boot settings can be configured. The proper answer is CMOS. The exam answer is BIOS. This exam dump looks flawed.
