      @Love_Linux: no question on Samba
    • Love_Linux from Unknown 08 21 2013, 1:54 AM Report Spam
      @Sandiego – was there any questions on Samba? I noticed in the actual test download link there are lots of questions on Samba and shares and smb.conf which is NOT covered in the syllabus nor is in it the official study guide.

      Any clarification would help – thanks in advance!

      I got 690 and passed the LX 102 on 08 9. I would like to thank to people who posted the dump files and the comments too.

      Below are some tips I would like to bring to the people who is going to take the exam LX 102 soon.

      1- The exam has 60 questions and passing score is 800. There are about 20 to 25 questions not covered in the practice exam. Among these 20 to 25 questions, there are a few question have the same concept with the practice exam.
      2- I practiced on the set of 289 questions (by Jecklin) and set of 310 questions (by Garrick). The two sets give the same questions. The set of 310 questions give the repeated question.
      3- I thought I failed the exam but it turned out I got over 190 points. It means if you practice thoroughly the practice exam, you will pass it. No worry ?
      4- I checked out John ‘s comment before I took the exam. It is very helpful information. Thanks John. The exam asked me a different number of subnet (29) but I did not remember the way how to calculate the number of ports with given subnet number.
      5- I figured out we need to input only one option to get score for the fill in questions (do not input answers with -or- ). I noticed I got the score increased when I clicked on the next question when I practiced the exam. If I inputted “or” to the answer, I don’t get any score.

      Again, thank you all.

      just took test. Made 600. about 70% is good. I didnt study the info Jon listed in his post. Almost all the questions that I had a hard time with were there. Also, dont just memorize answers. Do a little extra studying and know your stuff bc a lot of the question and answers are worded differently. Still, this was a great help!!

      Very valid. 40 out of 60 questions on exam were straight from this. Same wording, same order.

      10 more questions were from things Jon mentions in the post below.

      Passed today 700+. This dump is for the most part valid. Make sure you know the material because the wording has been twisted in some of these questions. Read Jon's comments are relevant. There was 1 or 2 new questions which I have forgotten now. Good luck!

      Took the exam today, this dump is 60-70% valid. Jon's new questions were dead-on!

      There was another question regarding user mailboxes according to FHS, correct answer is /var/mail.

      Passed with 750/800
